Pakoras can be made one day in advance do not refrigerate. Bread Pakora, a popular street food and teatime snack from Indian cuisine, is a perfect snack to serve with a cup of tea in cool relaxing winter evening or rainy afternoon. Similar to bhajji , it is essentially a deep fried snack having crisp outer coating of besan (chickpea flour). Bread pakora is an Indian fried snack (pakora or fritter).
Instructions to make Bread Pakora:
- For Potato Filling: Boil the potatoes, peel and mash them when they are warm. To the mashed potatoes, add and mix coriander leaves, green chilli, red chilli powder, amchur powder and salt.
- For Besan Batter: In Besan add ajwain, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, asafoetida and salt. Add water for the desired consistency. Check for the seasoning.
- Add few drops of oil in the batter and keep it aside.
- For Assembling Bread Pakora: Cut the Slice of bread into triangular slices.
- Apply green chutney on one side of triangular bread and tomato ketchup on another slice. Layer mashed potato mixture evenly on the bread Cover this slice with another slice.
- Dip into besan batter to coat the breads. Deep fry pakora in hot oil on medium flame till crisp and golden brown. Enjoy with Tea or Coffee.
